New Mercedes-Benz C-Class revealed

Mercedes-Benz debuted its new C-Class range in Germany early this morning.

CarPoint will publish details on the new premium medium car later today. In the meantime, check out the webcast of the launch here.

In brief, according to Mercedes, the new C-Class offers a a choice of four and six-cylinder engines with up to 13 per cent more output than the preceding model, accompanied by an up to six per cent improvement in fuel consumption.

The new sedan is 55mm longer than its predecessor and 42mm wider. The wheelbase has grown 45mm to 2760mm. Mercedes says these dimensions "create the conditions for a generously sized interior, and therefore more comfort." For example, says the car maker, the front shoulder room has increased by 40 millimetres.
