Have you ever wondered what it would be like to blast down the main straight at the Albert Park F1 circuit just days before the big race?
As the hero car in Forza Motorsport 7, one of the new generation racing games on the Xbox One, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS can be piloted by those who don't perhaps have the $650,000 to afford a real one.
As part of that pairing, Xbox, Porsche and Michelin have joined forces to offer five winners the chance to get a hot lap around one of the world's most picturesque street circuits in the wild GT2 RS.
Okay, so it won't be in a twin-seat F1 car but the wild 515kW Porsche 911 GT2 RS – driven by Mark Webber – isn't a bad way to blitz around the track.
With a total prize pool worth $40,000, entering the competition works thusly: Entrants must play Forza Motorsport 7 between November 6 and December 1, 2017 – so yeah, you have to own a copy basically.
Then you have to say in 25 words or less why you are "worthy" of a hot lap with Mr Webber at the Australian F1 GP, via the competition website.
Why would you want to do this? Because the Porsche 911 GT2 RS is a completely bonkers car that Mark Webber will thrash the bejesus out of in front of thousands of roaring spectators at the GP.
The 911 GT2 RS dispatches the 0-100km/h dash in 2.8 seconds, has a top speed of 340km/h and features seats made of iridium. Well, maybe not that last one, but it's safe to say the car is cream-cracker crazy.
That said, if you read the competition fine print it does say "GT2 RS or an alternative high performance vehicle" so that's probably a backup in case he prangs it.
Five winners will be flown to Melbourne, put up in hotels for three nights, gain access to the F1 GP and then dart around the track at warp speed with Webber. There's also a meet and greet with Mark Webber and an exclusive $330 Porsche toy car.
Winners also get an Xbox, which is peculiar considering entrants are highly likely to already own one to enter the comp… Another five consolation prizes consist of Xbox One videogame consoles.
