Porsche dream rides make wishes come true

RAAF and Porsche to auction the ride of a lifetime to help support sick kids

As part of a proud association with Make-A-Wish, Porsche Cars Australia will offer 'the ride of a lifetime' in its latest 911 Turbo against an RAAF Hawk at the 2010 RAAF Williamtown Air Show near Newcastle this month.

The rides will be auctioned to raise money for children with life-threatening medical conditions. Two rides are already up for grabs with bidding open via e-Bay . One passenger ride will also be auctioned on each morning prior to the event.

Participants must be 18 years of age or over.

The lucky bidders will ride in the passenger seat of the Porsche 911 Turbo experiencing its phenomenal acceleration as part of a high speed performance comparison with an RAAF Hawk aircraft.

The 911 Turbo is the quickest accelerating road-going car ever built by Porsche, developing 368kW it can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 3.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 312km/h.

The RAAF Hawk is no slouch either, its 5800 pounds of thrust certain to form an exciting comparison.

The 2010 RAAF Williamtown Air Show will be held at the RAAF base Williamtown on Saturday September 18th and Sunday September 19th. For tickets or more information, visit www.airforce.gov.au/airshows
