The first official teaser of the incoming 2025 RAM 1500 RHO pick-up truck has emerged, and the US brand has locked in an April 25 reveal date for its Hurricane-powered TRX successor.
The performance flagship is the final variant of the updated RAM 1500 portfolio, heralded by a subtle hint at the start of the just-published teaser clip: “I hear the storm is coming”.
The words are whispered at the start of the video, which shows a high-end RAM 2500 hooked up to a flatbed trailer, upon which is a covered pick-up.
The dialogue is a direct reference to the twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre ‘Hurricane’ straight six-cylinder petrol engine lurking under the bonnet of the RHO – and every other internal combustion 1500, for that matter.
Jeep first showed the forced-induction mill in March 2022 and confirmed it was good for up to 373kW/644Nm in high-output form.
That was more than two years ago now, so there’s every chance the wick has been turned up even further for the RHO, which is the direct replacement for the monstrous RAM 1500 TRX (523kW/882Nm).
Previous spy images of the upcoming tough truck carry all the cosmetic signatures of a TRX – huge all-terrain tyres, extended wheel-arches, high-performance suspension, huge bonnet scoops and vents, a unique front fascia and massive dual-exhaust outlets.
Even more promising from a local point of view is the recent trademarking of the ‘RHO’ nameplate with IP Australia, which strongly suggests the flagship load-lugger is headed Down Under to continue poaching Raptors.
