Holden has introduced a turbodiesel engine and updates to its Rodeo line-up for 2007.
The company says the 3.0-litre common-rail turbodiesel engine delivers peak power increases of 25 per cent. The engine is Euro IV compliant.
Peak power of 120kW is achieved at 3600rpm (up from 96kW at 3800rpm) and peak torque of 333Nm at 1600rpm (automatic) and 360Nm at 1800 rpm (manual); an increase of 39Nm and 66Nm respectively.
Rodeo diesel models are offered with either a new five-speed manual or four-speed auto.
All 4x4 turbodiesel variants now have a 3000kg braked towing capability, which represents an increase of 500kg on manual variants and a 1000kg on automatic variants.
Holden says the new model is the most powerful diesel Rodeo ever offered. "With increases in power and torque and a three-tonne braked towing capacity on our 4x4 diesel variants, the new Rodeo is an outstanding new model," says GM Holden Marketing Manager, Teresa Basile.
Holden has also updated Rodeo's exterior and interior details, with redesigned front and rear fascias, updated over-fender flairs and a bonnet air-induction scoop for the turbodiesel models. The company says driver and passenger seating has been improved and the update includes a new steering wheel and HVAC controls and interior trims, redesigned instrument clusters and interior side vents, and updated automatic/manual transmission levers.
DX and LX models receive a new trim called New Jersey (dark grey) and LX is also available in a new exterior colour (Tornade Red).
The LT model includes interior silvers sports highlights, cruise control, halogen projector headlamps, a sports instrument cluster, passenger vanity mirror, multi-information display and a roof console all as standard. LT is available in two new exterior colours (Tornade Red, Sterling Silver) and a new trim Rascel (dark grey).
The 2007 Rodeo will be available in range of seven colours: Alpine White and Sterling Silver (all models), Glacier Blue (DX, and LX only), Light Quartz Grey (LT only), Imperial Blonde (gold) -- LX, LT only, Tornade Red (LX and LT only) and Black Sapphire (LX, and LT only).
Prices remain the same for the new model, which is availble from January 2007 onwards.
