Toyota has introduced a new version of its Toyota RAV4 that's been designed for lifestyle buyers who love the outdoors but don't actually need a proper off-roader to go exploring.
Dubbed the 2022 Toyota RAV4 Adventure, the tougher-looker SUV is set to land in Europe early next year and will introduce some rugged styling upgrades and updates within the cabin.
Beginning with what's happened with the exterior, the Toyota RAV4 Adventure gets matte-grey 19-inch wheels, wider wheel-arches and a new front bumper that incorporates a metallic-looking bash plate.
High-level fog lamps, black grille bars and another bash plate on the rear bumper complete the butch updates.
Within the RAV4 Adventure's cabin there's a special quilted synthetic leather (with orange stitching) and new tread plates.
As far as tech goes, the tougher RAV4 gets the same 8.0-inch infotainment system as the regular car.
Under the bonnet, there's been no special treatment, with the RAV4 Adventure using the same 163kW 2.5-litre petrol-electric four-cylinder hybrid powertrain that offers all-wheel drive and only comes with a CVT automatic transmission.
As well as introducing the Adventure, Toyota Europe has also equipped all RAV4 models with new LED headlights and LED front fog lights.
Regular models bag new 10-spoke alloy wheels that come painted black or silver.
Inside, all RAV4 models pick up LED lighting, electric adjustment for the front passenger seat, new backlit electric window switches and extra USB-C charging points.
Toyota Australia is preparing to embrace the European upgrades, but there's no word yet if the new Adventure model will be part of the line-up when sales begin early next year.
