Lexus has released the first teaser image of its facelifted ES sedan, which is now confirmed to make its world debut at the Shanghai motor show in China on April 20.
No details have been released, Lexus saying only that "The new Lexus ES maintains its classical elegance while conveying a more dynamic experience and luxurious craftsmanship".
The teaser image shows a new-look front-end dominated by s harper front bumper and bolder, more heavily chromed 'spindle' grille, flanked by redesigned twin-element lightning bolt shaped headlights incorporating matching boomerang-shaped LED running lights.
The sixth-generation ES was released in Australia in November 2013 after a seven-year absence by the nameplate Down Under.
Priced from $60,500, available in ES 300h hybrid and ES 350 petrol V6 guises and last updated in October 2014, the mid-size front-wheel drive sedan is positioned between Lexus' latest IS and GS rear-drive luxury sedans.
Lexus has sold more than 1.7 million ES vehicles globally since 1989.
