The Audi e-tron GT is already one of the best-looking cars on the road and now it seems the luxury electric fastback could get even sexier, with a pair of camouflaged prototypes spotted testing in Germany.
Spied in both standard GT and flagship RS guises, the development prototypes were fitted with camouflage over their front and rear bumpers as well as their side skirts, which suggests Audi is working on making its flagship EV slipperier and more efficient.
The camo is masking a new set of air intakes and a redesigned chin up front, while the rear-end looks to be sporting a subtly altered diffuser. But we note that the headlights and tail-lights are untouched, which suggests the revisions won’t be as major as other facelifts.
Whether or not the cosmetic updates come with any powertrain upgrades remains to be seen, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the battery and motor software ends up with a tweak or two, in order to liberate a few extra kiloWatts and/or kilometres.
The other possibility is that both the battery and motors will be upgraded in the name of more power, increased efficiency and/or faster charging, given the e-tron GT is Audi’s premier electric model, plus the fact that Porsche is cooking up some sort of monstrous Taycan GT variant.
Our contacts in Europe expect the facelifted Audi e-tron GT to be revealed and released in the second half of 2024, in which case we wouldn’t see it in local showrooms until sometime in 2025.
Upgrades of any description will inevitably add to the slinky four-door’s asking price, which presently opens at $180,200 plus on-road costs for the 390kW GT and $closes at 248,200 for the 475kW RS GT.
