SPY PICS: BMW i3

BMW i3 spotted testing near Munich ahead of Paris Motor Show debut

These pics, snapped during this week’s launch of the BMW M135i near Munich, show the upcoming BMW i3 we’ve shown cold weather testing previously out and about on a German autobahn, albeit with repositioned tail lamps and different wheels.

Camouflaged in BMW’s psychedelic paisley body wrap the all-electric model will kick of proceedings for the BMWi brand.

The light hatch appears to feature bag-wing doors and aerodynamic enhancing disc-type alloy wheels. Though confusing, BMW’s all-electric model appears on closer inspection to have a decal reading “Hybrid Test Vehicle” printed across the rear. Whether this is a red herring aimed at throwing off would-be spy photographers or indications that the model features a range-extending petrol engine will not be known until the i3 is debuted at the Paris Motor Show debut in October.

BMW spokespersons had little to say on the matter, simply saying we’ll have to wait until the Paris Motor Show.
