SPY PICS: Fastest ever 911 caught

Porsche's new flagship sportster, the 911 GT2 has been caught testing

It might look like the common-as-muck $327K-plus Porsche 911 Turbo at first glance, but concentrate. Caught by the Carsales Network's spymeister Carparazzi, this is Zuffenhausen's new flagship performance model, the 911 GT2.

Turbocharged, two-wheel drive and with an expected 410kW on tap, the GT2 is tipped to be the first ever true 200mph (320km/h approx) production 911.

Visible differences from the current Turbo include no fog-lamps (missing from the front bumper), the huge multi-element rear wing as well as a simpler front spoiler/splitter lip.

The rear wing top on this tester is similar to those found on previous GT2s and may be exchanged for a newer design in the final variant, but the lower, vented wing-base looks production-ready.

That the risk of sounding like a broken record, we expect the fastest-ever 911 to surface later this year. At, you guessed it, the Frankfurt Motor Show.
