SPY PICS: Nissan plans JUKE facelift
A slightly facelifted version of Nissan's five-door city-crossover is expected to appear at this year's Geneva motor showNissan is preparing an update for its quirky JUKE five-door crossover that is expected to be ready in time to make an appearance at this year’s Geneva show in December.
These Automedia spy photos of a prototype testing in winter conditions show, by way of strategically placed masking, that changes can be expected to feature around the front and rear bumper area, as well as a re-profiling of the upper lights that adorn the edges of the bonnet.
It is difficult to make a call on what Nissan might be doing with the front bumpers, but it’s reasonable to expect some minor re-shaping, as well as a bit of work on the intake areas that will also see a relocation of the 'fog' lights.
The cladding completely masks the tail lights area, but it would be reasonable to expect the lenses will be changed in concert with new rear bumpers.
It also looks certain the facelifted Juke will get a new set of external rear-view mirrors, re-shaped and probably fitted with supplementary indicator lights.
No word on interior or driveline changes, so it could be expected local Jukes at least will continue with the same engine line-up that includes normally aspirated and turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder powerplants.
So far in Australia, the JUKE – which was released here in October 2013 – is proving a nice supplement to Nissan’s SUV line-up and with 717 sales reported in 2013 it is approaching the cushy Murano’s figure of 1125 sales (10,701 X-TRAILs were sold last year).
Nissan has announced it will launch four new models in the first half of this year, including an all-new X-TRAIL, a hybrid version of the new Pathfinder, a Pulsar SSS hatchback and the replacement and re-naming of the Dualis SUV as the Qashqai.
