Toyota most trusted car brand
New survey reveals Toyota is Australia's most trusted car brand — for seventh year runningToyota has built its reputation on being a reliable and robust brand, and for the seventh year in a row it has been awarded the 'most trusted car brand' in Reader's Digest Australia's annual survey.
Holden and BMW were also "highly recommended" in the survey.
Australia's top selling car brand for the past nine years, Toyota has sold more than 5.5 million vehicles in Australia since its establishment in the local market in 1958.
Participants in the Reader's Digest Australia survey also voted Kevin Rudd as Australia's most trusted politician, and the Commonwealth Bank as the most trusted bank.
The survey was undertaken by Catalyst Research "to survey a national representative sample of Australians about brands in 2012," says the company, though no figure on how many Australians undertook the survey has been provided.
Matthew Callachor, executive director sales and marketing at Toyota Australia, said the survey results were proof of how well received the company's products are in Australia, particularly when competing against more than 50 other car brands.
"Over more than half a century, Toyota has worked hard to deliver Australian customers with top-quality vehicles that are reliable, long-lasting and fuel-efficient - at prices that represent great value for money," said Mr Callachor.
The news comes a week after Toyota's head office in Japan announced its 200 millionth vehicle built t200 millionth vehicle built, a milestone that took 77 years to achieve.
According to Reader's Digest Australia, the Toyota brand is "hot property".
"In uncertain times, it's the brands that continue to offer quality and substance that continue to enjoy Australians' trust," states the magazine.
"A product that is dependable and meets our expectations is a valuable asset to a company. Customers who trust a product - and the company behind the product - become repeat buyers, and this loyalty can span years, generations, lifetimes even."
