Toyota reveals 2017 Corolla sedan

Toyota has published pictures of the restyled Corolla sedan that goes on sale in Australia early next year.

Arriving in the first quarter of 2017, the small Toyota has received a subtle redesign focused around the front-end.

In an attempt to give the Corolla a wider stance and, in the Japanese car-maker’s words, a “more prestigious design” the old car’s chrome two-bar grille and large headlights have been banished and replaced by slimmer, wider LED headlight clusters that flank a narrow single-bar grille.

The front bumper also gets sharper creases and gains a deeper, wider front air dam.

At the rear there’s a pair of new LED tail lamps.

Look closely at you might also spot the chrome highlights on the door handles and boot lid.

Completing the redesign is new 16- and 17-inch alloys.

Under the skin the biggest change to the sedan version of Australia’s best-selling car is the introduction of Toyota’s Safety Sense package of upgrades.

Safety Sense on the 2017 Corolla adds autonomous emergency braking, lane departure alert, road sign assist and automatic high-beam assist for the headlights.
