The Porsche 911 Turbo is seriously quick, one of the quickest production vehicles on sale in Australia, in fact. But there is a faster Porsche in the wings, and it goes by the name of the GT2.
Spied testing in Europe by Carparazzi's secretive snappers, the facelifted Porsche 911 GT2 will follow in the footsteps of the updated 911 GT3, benefitting from a mild cosmetic update. Minor mechanical updates are also possible, but the same 3.6-litre twin turbo six-cylinder boxer engine is expected to be carried over, outputting around 390kW. As the spy photos show, the rear end will get a modified rear apron with restyled LED brake light clusters to match.
The mid-life update for the smoking hot Porsche 911 GT2 is expected to make its official debut later this year, and the 2010 Paris motor show is a likely launch pad.
