Upgraded LDV G10+ arrives

More powerful diesel engine and other improvements for Chinese brand’s mid-size work van

LDV has expanded its commercial vehicle range in Australia, adding the 2021 LDV G10+ to its medium-sized van range that brings a number of upgrades including a new turbo-diesel engine.

Priced about $1500 upstream of the continuing LDV G10, the G10+ has arrived with both petrol and diesel power, the latter being a 118kW/375Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel – as seen in the LDV T60 Trailrider 2 4x4 dual-cab ute – that’s paired with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission (with shift paddles).

A manual gearbox is also available with the new engine, but there’s no specific details at this stage.

The regular G10 continues with a 106kW/350Nm 1.9-litre turbo-diesel that mates with either a six-speed manual or six-speed auto.

The G10’s 160kW/330Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine is also available in the G10+, but the new model also picks up an eight-speed ZF automatic (replacing the six-speed unit) as standard.

Pricing for the G10+ petrol auto starts from $34,726 drive-away or $32,989 for eligible ABN holders.

The G10+ diesel starts at $34,200 drive-away (ABN: $32,489) for the manual, while the auto kicks off at $36,305 drive-away (ABN: $34,489) with a lift door.

Barn-style rear doors add $600 on the diesel, but aren’t offered on the petrol.

The 2.0-litre diesel/auto pairing is said to consume 8.2L/100km on a combined fuel cycle – 0.4L/100km better than the 1.9 auto – while the turbo-petrol is rated at 11.1L/100km, the new auto clearly helping the van improve on the regular G10’s 11.7L/100km.

Elsewhere, LDV claims that the G10+ brings lower noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels, along with “new material finishes” and a rotary-style gear selector.

Other standard features across the range include 16-inch alloy wheels, brake assist, cruise control, parking sensors, and a 7.0-inch infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth.

Payload remains at 1093kg for the petrol or 1010kg for the diesel variants. Ditto for cargo capacity which is 5.2 cubic metres across the board.

All models are covered by LDV’s three-year/100,000km warranty with roadside assist.
