Volkswagen has unveiled an R-Line package for its swoopy Passat CC, adding to the visual appeal and mod-cons quota of the sedan-cum-coupe.
Priced in Europe from 2200 euros (about $3560 in our money), the package brings a range of niceties, such as 17-inch (or optional 18-inch) R-Line "Mallory" alloy wheels with 235/45 tyres and a bespoke, body-coloured front spoiler and side skirts.
In addition, R-Line logos are emblazoned on the flanks, while the tail-lights are smoked.
The cabin also gains a few accoutrements, including customised tread plates in aluminium (with R-Line logos in front) and a three-spoke leather-trimmed steering wheel with multifunction keys.
Adding to the base model Passat CC's kit list, the R-Line also brings front fog lights and VW's Park Pilot system (park-distance control).
What the R-Line package doesn't bring is any engine or suspension upgrades, as it's more about show than go. In this respect it's similar in theme to Audi's S-Line and BMW's Individual.
Counting versions already introduced on the Golf, Scirocco, Touran, Tiguan, Passat, Passat Variant and Touareg, Volkswagen now offers a total of eight models with R-Line extras internationally.
