You can now purchase any new Volkswagen model offered in Australia with the press of a button.
The German manufacturer's Australian division has announced an extension of its existing online ordering system Down Under to include every model in the range.
Originally designated solely for the T-Roc SUV from January, Volkswagen's online ordering system enables prospective buyers to choose and personalise their vehicle remotely, including colour choice and optional packages.
"When the car is configured to personal requirements and the $500 deposit put down, the designated dealer makes contact within 48 hours to complete the purchase and manage delivery," Volkswagen Australia said in a press release.
According to Volkswagen marketing director Jason Bradshaw, the new online tool will help both customers and the Volkswagen network to navigate through the rolling coronavirus crisis.
“This enables customers freedom to purchase anytime while continuing to support our dealer network, which remains our brand’s frontline and continues to do a great job even in these unprecedented circumstances,” he said.
In addition to ordering new vehicles, Volkswagen says customers have the option to enter the registration of their current vehicle to receive an online trading evaluation, which gives the likely value range of the vehicle subject to dealer inspection.
Volkswagen's initiative is the latest employed by the car industry to counter the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
