Volkswagen Australia reached a sales milestone by selling 100,000 Volkswagen Amarok utes Down Under, after delivering a grey Amarok Style V6 dual-cab ute to an owner in Townsville, Queensland, last week.
Celebrating the sale of ute number 100,000, Volkswagen Australia rewarded new owner Peta Wilson with free accessories worth almost $9500.
Introduced locally back in 2010, the Amarok is now in its second generation with Australians typically buying high-end versions, with the V6 turbo-diesel outselling the cheaper four-cylinder version nine to one.
Just last month an Amorak set a new Guinness World Record in Australia as it managed to visit 10 deserts in just six days and 17 hours, covering an impressive 6241km in the process.
This has promoted a limited 300-run of Amarok 10 Deserts Limited Edition vehicles to be launched, based on the Amarok Life model.
"This is a milestone achievement for our Australian sales champion,” Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles director Ryan Davies said.
"Showing how singularly well-suited Amarok is to the toughest conditions on
this continent is our way of celebrating this success, " he added
The second-generation Volkswagen Amarok has sold 7297 units thus far in 2024, up from 4872 for the same 10-month period last year, marking an almost 50% increase in sales.
