2023 Citroen C5 Aircross Sport now on sale

The 2023 Citroen C5 Aircross Sport has arrived on Aussie soil and is about to enter showrooms, priced from $54,990 plus on-road costs.

Revealed in January 2022 and confirmed for Australia earlier this year, the Citroen C5 Aircross Sport is the only model grade available with the French brand’s updated mid-size SUV and pushes further upmarket compared to the previous C5 Aircross Shine, which was priced at $52,300 plus ORCs.

Thankfully, a high level of specification is included in the price, with infotainment duties handled by an all-new 10-inch interface sporting native satellite navigation and wired smartphone mirroring.

The new widescreen is complemented by a fully customisable 12.3-inch digital instrument display, an overhauled dash layout and redesigned centre console which resides between the new-generation ‘Citroen Advanced Comfort’ seats – as seen in the C5 X and smaller C4.

Both front seats are power-adjustable and are upholstered in Nappa leather as standard – as is the second row – with the driver also scoring a massage function.

Other headline equipment includes an e-Toggle gear selector, leather-like trim on the centre console and doors, wireless phone charging, individually sliding and reclining rear seats, powered sunroof, adaptive cruise control, LED exterior lighting and 19-inch alloy wheels.

With the sliding second row set all the way back there’s 580 litres of boot space on offer and up to 1630L when it’s folded flat.

There’s also a powertrain upgrade for the 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which produces 133kW and 250Nm of torque (up from 121kW/240Nm). It drives the front wheels via a new eight-speed automatic transmission.

The previous model used a six-speed auto.

Combined-cycle fuel consumption is a claimed 5.7L/100km for the C5 Aircross Sport, down from 5.9L/100km in the Shine.
