Images of Audi's brand-new A7 Sportback have surfaced, revealing a design that lives in the same neighbourhood as the BMW 5 Series GT, Porsche Panamera and Jaguar XF.
The new photos of the luxury liftback were leaked over the weekend, less than two weeks after Audi announced a teaser website for the new car -- and ahead of the car's official debut later tonight.
Featuring a long body expected to measure around five metres, the new five-door Audi is heavily based on the A7 Sportback concept which debuted at the 2009 Detroit motor show and fits neatly into the German car maker's range between the A6 and A8.
The Audi A7 Sportback is a larger, and more luxurious version of the A5 Sportback. Its main rivals will be the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class and BMW 5 Series GT, and with S7 Sportback models likely to emerge at a later date, the new Audi could also tempt the Porsche Panamera into a scuffle.
Various powerplants are likely for the new Audi liftback, including six-cylinder diesel and petrol engines, which will be coupled with a range of manual and S-tronic (automatic) gearboxes.
Stay tuned for the official launch tomorrow, with more tech specs and details to follow.
