Audi is readying a new concept for a smaller, more affordable sibling to the Audi e-tron SUV (pictured) that will share its platform and pure-electric powertrain with the Volkswagen I.D.
According to
, a concept for the smaller e-tron SUV will be unveiled as soon as early next year and it will preview the production model.Based on the same Volkswagen Group MEB platform that's been specifically engineered for pure-electric vehicles, the zero-emission SUV will be bigger than Audi's current Q2 and slot in within the range below the Q3.

When it finally goes on sale in 2021, the prediction is the smaller, cheaper pure-electric SUV will easily out-sell the large Audi e-tron SUV and the flagship e-tron GT sports car.
Said to share design cues with the e-tron GT and likely to feature all-wheel drive, in Europe the baby e-tron is set to cost around $50,000.
Audi has already confirmed that it will launch 12 new pure-electric vehicles by 2025, five of which will be SUVs.
