Audi has moved into line with rivals including Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Jaguar, Land Rover, Genesis and Volvo with the extension of its factory warranty from three to five years.
The same unlimited-kilometres distance applies to the uprated coverage for new Audi cars, which became effective on January 1, 2022.
The move puts Audi ahead of arch-rival BMW and a variety of other prestige brands including Porsche, Lamborghini, Maserati, MINI and Alfa Romeo, all of which continue to cover their vehicles for three years.
The longer warranty period is a permanent offering from Audi Australia, extending to all variants across the range including S, RS and e-tron models.
Audi Australia’s brand director Paul Sansom said: “We’ve listened to our customers and are proud to make our five-year warranty a permanent feature of the Audi ownership experience.
“There are many aspects of Audi ownership that delight our customers, but we understand that the reassurance of a five-year warranty is very highly regarded,” he said.
Meanwhile, Audi will also now provide a 12-year warranty for body work against corrosion perforation for new vehicles, while five-year service plans will continue to be offered alongside the new coverage.
