Audi launches A5 website

Audi has launched a website dedicated to its new A5 coupe

Audi has launched a website dedicated to its latest model -- the new A5 coupe. The car, which will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show early in March, is a pivotal model for the German carmaker as it ushers in the company's latest platform and running gear.

Claimed to feature better weight distribution thanks to repositioning (rearwards) of the engine within a longer wheelbase (with attendant handling and steering advantages), the A5's underpinnings will be shared by the next generation A4, Audi's volume model.

Styling is said to reprise the Nuvolari concept car of 2003 (pictured). The digital rendering also pictured hereabouts was published on Audi blog site Fortitude.com and purports to show the production A5. Note, however, that spy shots of the new car have revealed cleaner lines without the fussy rear quarter detailing.

Though there's not a lot of detail at the A5 microsite site, you can register to receive more details -- the instant 'prize' for which is a better look at the frustratingly anodyne overhead view of the A5 on the site.
