Big deal from Honda

On the back of a strong sales month for October, as well as healthy year-to-date figures putting it well ahead of 2006, Honda is extending the value-added offers on Accord, Accord Euro, Odyssey and Jazz models.

The offers includes free on-road costs (registration, third party insurance, dealer delivery) on the Accord model that is due for replacement next year, along with similar deals on Accord Euro, Odyssey and Jazz.

The deal on Euro and Jazz models adds an extended five-year/140,000km warranty that includes roadside assist (but excludes free dealer delivery), while Odyssey and Accord retain the standard three-year/100,000km Honda warranty. Like the Euro and Jazz, Odyssey also misses out on free dealer delivery.

Honda's largesse with four of its Australian model lineup played a part in the 5106 sales achieved in October -- the best monthly figure since July this year, when it sold 5632 cars.

Before posting its strong October sales, the company's year-to-date sales were already well ahead of 2006, with 46,028 vehicles sold by the end of September 2007, compared with 40,995 for the same period in 2006.

With the Accord on runout in preparation for a new model next year, the no-more-to-pay deal takes a sizeable slab out of the actual purchase price.

Accord recommended retail prices -- before on-road costs -- start at $30,490 for the four-cylinder VTi model and top out at $45,490 for the V6 luxury model.

The extended deal does not cover government, fleet and rental car purchases.
