BMW Australia has taken the step of in incorporating free scheduled servicing over three years or 60,000km into the purchase price of all new BMWs ordered and delivered in September and October this year.
The deal, which is normally an option on BMW purchases as the BMW Service Inclusive Plus (BSI Plus) package, will cover basic scheduled service items including the annual vehicle check, oil change and labour costs as well as additional maintenance items such as brake pads, brake discs, worn clutches and windscreen wiper blades.
BMW Australia says the inclusion of the top-level three years/60,000km BSI Plus service pack on newly-purchased BMWs equals $3,171 of added value. A basic service pack, BMW Service Inclusive (BSI), which can cover up to five years and 100,000km depending on the period selected, is also optionally available from the company.
According to BMW Group Australia Managing Director, Mr Phil Horton, customers are increasingly considering “whole-of-life-costs” as part of their purchasing decision. He said the company is “Making sure that owning a BMW stacks up from a rational point of view.
He said that the service inclusive packages, together with BMW Full Circle, which guarantees the future value of the car, show the confidence the company has in the quality and resale values of its cars.
