Bugatti has announced it will celebrate its 100th anniversary by creating 20 examples of the Bugatti Chiron Sport 110 ans -- a special-edition based on the car-maker's 420km/h hypercar.
Based on the Bugatti Chiron Sport launched at last year's Geneva motor show, the new special anniversary model is also described by the famous hypercar-maker as a "tribute to France".
That explains the Steel Blue matte paint that's combined with the same blue visible weave carbon-fibre.
Externally, the Bugatti Chiron Sport 110 ans also gets matte black wheels that are contrasted with bright blue brake callipers.
If the French theme isn't obvious enough, Bugatti has also plastered the country's famous red, white and blue tricolour flag beneath the huge active rear spoiler and used more subtle stripes, with the same national colours on the door mirrors and aluminium filler caps.
Inside, the special Chiron Sport gets blue two-tone leather and Alcantara seats with '110 ans Bugatti' badging, plus the Sky View glass panoramic roof as standard.
Under the rear boot lid the quad-turbocharged 8.0-litre W16 produces the same 1120kW and 1600Nm of torque as the standard car, which hits 100km/h in less than 2.5 seconds before eventually topping out at 420km/h.
Confirming it will make just 20 celebratory Chiron Sport 110 ans vehicles, Bugatti has not yet announced how much of a premium the anniversary hypercar will command over the standard car's eye-watering €2.65 million ($A4.2m) price tag.
