Mercedes-Benz has a habit of unveiling futuristic concepts and high-tech innovations at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
And it appears the 2020 CES early next month will be no different, with the German car-maker teasing what looks like could be another EQ model on the horizon.
Mercedes says it will offer visitors a “glimpse into a world of forward-looking mobility” at its CES stand, where people will also be able to paw over the new EQC 400 4MATIC and the Vision EQS Concept first seen at this year’s Frankfurt motor show.
Set to make its world debut, the “futuristic concept vehicle” will be presented by Mercedes-Benz and Daimler boss Ola Kallenius, who will also provide a “visionary outlook of the future interaction between man and machine”.
Daimler’s chief design officer Gorden Wagener will also explain the link between “human-centred” design and functionality in the interior of the new show car.
“The concept vehicle and its visionary technical solutions once again demonstrate the innovative strength of Mercedes-Benz. It completely redefines the term ‘Sustainable Modern Luxury’ and symbolizes the brand’s aspirations to achieve sustainable mobility today, tomorrow and in the future,” says Benz.
A total of seven Mercedes-Benz EVs have been confirmed as part of the EQ family, and all of them will come to Australia by 2023.
Beyond the existing EQC, based on the GLC SUV, there will be the GLA-based EQA due on sale next year and the GLB-based EQB, which will follow in 2021.
Further afield is a large electric SUV based on the GLE (perhaps badged as the EQE) and the all-new EQS flagship based on a dedicated new EV architecture.
We’ve already seen the EQC and concepts for the EQA and EQS, so maybe it’s time for Mercedes to preview one of its two remaining EQ surprises?
