Deal hunter: Citroen C5 Aircross on special

The 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross Shine is the French brand’s only entrant in the super-popular mid-size SUV segment in Australia, so to help push sales along it’s currently the subject of an enticing offer.

Usually retailing for $52,300 plus on-road costs, the Citroen C5 Aircross Shine is on special for $54,990 drive-away.

That price also includes metallic paint, which is usually a $690 option.

Subtract the paint from the equation and you’ll see that the usual on-road costs have been bundled into one tidy, practical and wallet-friendly $2000 premium, meaning consumers are potentially saving in excess of $3000 – depending on state or territory in which the car is purchased.

The Citroen C5 Aircross Shine is powered by a 121kW/240Nm 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that sends drive exclusively to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.

Sticking with the French brands, Peugeot also has a deal going on its 2022 Peugeot Boxer Pro LWB manual, with thousands axed off the large delivery van’s normal drive-away price.

The Boxer Pro LWB usually retails for $54,527 plus on-roads, but buyers can currently nab one for $55,990 drive-away – meaning the usual on-roads amount to just $1463.

We’d suggest that’s as close to a Black Friday deal as you’re going to get within the large commercial van segment, especially given the Boxer is backed by a five-year/200,000km warranty with yearly/20,000km service intervals.

At the other end of the scale, if you’re after a small and economical city runabout, the 2022 MG MG3 Excite automatic remains a popular choice at $20,990 drive-away.

That price includes niceties like satellite navigation, machined alloy wheels and a Yamaha-sourced six-speaker surround sound system, but under this current offer, MG is also throwing in a gift pack that includes a branded MG Motor reusable tote bag, organic wine and organic tea.
