The Mercedes-AMG S 63 Cabriolet 'Edition 130' made its global public debut at the 2016 Detroit motor show overnight, providing a glimpse into a world only the world's elite are privy to.
Based on the Mercedes-AMG S 63 Cabrio, the Edition 130 is limited to just – you guessed it – 130 units and features lavish new interior upholstery, special exterior paintwork and various other cosmetic/luxury upgrades.
Mercedes-Benz Australia says five of new vehicles will be imported to Australia in the fourth quarter of 2016, but has not put a price on the vehicle. It could top $600,000. Imagine what they'll be worth in another 130 years...

And the name? The '130' name relates to the 130th anniversary of Mercedes-Benz cars, explains AMG boss Tobias Moers.
"The first automobiles from Carl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler were open vehicles," he said.
"Mercedes-AMG honours this achievement of the founding fathers with this highly exclusive cabriolet, and demonstrates the developments the automobile has undergone in the last 130 years, developments which would have been inconceivable at that time."
Although power from the car's almighty 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 remains unchanged at 430kW and 900Nm, the interior gets next-level opulence thanks to the addition of exclusive 'designo' nappa leather in Bengal red-on-black or crystal grey-on-black.

Carbon and piano black lacquer accents mottle the cabin and prospective owners can also impress passengers with a custom build badge located on the centre console and engraving on the steering wheel highlighting the car's rarity.
Step outside the convertible and differences include a custom red fabric folding roof, red painted brake callipers, special 20-inch alloy wheels and the high-gloss 'Alubeam silver' exterior paint work made famous by the 2014 SLS AMG.
All customers also get a unique AMG indoor car cover with embroidered lettering to keep the dust off their collectible vehicle and during the vehicle handover the five well-heeled owners will also snaffle an Edition 130 badge key ring and an aluminium box to store their car key.

Every customer receives a tailor-made AMG Indoor Car Cover with the embroidered lettering "Edition 130 – # of 130" to protect this valuable vehicle from dust in the garage.
While 'regular' versions of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet will be launched in Australia from August, the 130 special is expected to arrive here in fourth quarter of 2016.
US versions of the car accelerate to 100km/h in a claimed 3.8 seconds thanks to their 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, but the handful of cars that come to Australia will be rear-drive, taking that figure to around four seconds.
