Express delivery: Merc-AMG reveals 375kW van

Mercedes-AMG shows its lighter side with 375kW vantastic April Fools’ prank

Mercedes USA has taken a break from its New York motor show build-up by claiming it’s created a Sprinter van powered by a 375kW 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 from the new C 63 S high-performance sedan.

Mercedes-AMG has not claimed performance figures for its supervan, but expect the Sprinter to hit 100km/h in less than six seconds and lay down 100m-long black lines away from the lights.

Said to have retuned suspension and even a diffuser, the new AMG van -- officially called the Mercedes-AMG Sprinter 63 S -- could quite possibly be the most terrifying vehicle to tailgate you since the evil truck from Steven Spielberg’s Duel.

Mercedes-Benz Australia is believed to be working hard on a business case for the new V8 biturbo delivery van. Not.
