Honda to premiere Jazz-based WR-V in Brazil

Juke-like compact SUV looks 'winsome' indeed, but is unlikely to win over buyers in Oz

Honda will introduce the WR-V, a new compact SUV, at the Sao Paulo motor show in Brazil within a matter of weeks.

The new vehicle is confirmed for production, but will not be sold outside South America, taking it off the table for the local market, according to Honda Australia.

Understood to be based on the Jazz platform, the WR-V (an acronym for 'Winsome Runabout Vehicle) will be smaller again than Honda's popular HR-V. According to the manufacturer's international press release accompanying the artist's sketch for the car, the WR-V is a "tough and urban" SUV design aimed at people leading "active lifestyles".

Honda will roll out the WR-V to the public in Sao Paulo on November 10.
