Honda tops 40K for first time

Honda Australia's success in the 2005 sales race has broken another record...

Honda has broken the 40,000 mark for new vehicles sales in a calendar year for the first time. The mark was posted with two full sales months to run and comes after record total sales for the Japanese marque in both 2003 and 2004.

The 40,000th vehicle was an Integra Type S sold by Springwoord (Qld) dealer, Highway Honda.

Honda Australia Senior Director Lindsay Smalley (pictured) told CarPoint he was delighted with the result.

"Having beaten last year's record by 3562 units and achieving this milestone in our history, I am looking forward to posting another record year in 2005 as we close in on our target of 41,000 units."

"I would also like to thank the staff of Honda Australia and our dealer network for their continuing efforts and to our Honda customers who made this milestone possible," Smalley said.
