Iconic sports-car brand Lotus is commemorating the founding of its factory at Hethel with a special run of the Evora 400 – the Hethel Edition.
Mechanically identical to the standard Evora 400, the Hethel Edition brings some added exclusivity in the form of three heritage colours not available normally, plus forged alloy wheels finished in silver, contrasting brake callipers, exclusive graphics and a commemorative build plate.
The three colours are Essex Blue, Motorsport Black and Racing Green. Two interior colours – black or red – are offered, coordinating with exterior colour chosen. Buyers can select either leather or Alcantara for the upholstery.
"The Evora 400 is the latest in a long line of world-beating sports and racing cars to have all been hand built in Hethel over the last 50 years," Lotus CEO Jean-Marc Gales was quoted saying in a press release.
"We are immensely proud to be part of the community and it is entirely fitting that this limited edition be dedicated to our home. We're looking forward to celebrating our connections to Norfolk throughout 2016, and more Lotus Hethel Anniversary news will be announced soon".
The Evora 400 will sprint to 100km/h from a standing start in 4.2 seconds, courtesy of the 298kW/410Nm output from its supercharged 3.5-litre V6
There's no word as yet concerning sales in Australia. The Hethel Edition will sell in its home market of the UK for £75,500. Lotus plans to introduce other products and hold special events throughout this year to mark the occasion.
