Lotus has continued its aggressive model proliferation with the unveiling of the Evora GT410 Sport overnight.
Essentially the penultimate variant in the Evora range below the current GT430 flagship, the GT410 bridges the gap both in terms of performance and presumbably price. It replaces the current Evora Sport 410.
Australian details are yet to be confirmed, but essentially, power comes from a familiar Toyota-derived 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine that makes 305kW (or 410hp) and 420Nm of torque. Drive is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual or optional six-speed automatic, and as before, the car’s 0-100km/h claim is set at 4.2 seconds.
The biggest change comes in the form of less weight, the GT410 tipping the scales at 1297kg dry, 28kg less than its predecessor.
A carbon fibre roof panel and tailgate are standard, and there are further optional weight saving measures – including a titanium exhaust and Ohlins dampers – that drop the car’s dry weight to 1256kg.
Borrowing bodywork from the GT430, the 410 boasts 50 per cent added downforce over the outgoing model – up to 96kg.
Australian pricing will be revealed closer to the vehicle’s launch, but expect a figure close to the outgoing model’s $209,990 price tag.
