Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 and CLA 45 Aero Pack released
AMG-designed fixed rear wing, new front splitter and aero blades dial up visual aggression of small sedanNew dealer-fit air-bending aids have been revealed for both the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 and CLA 45 performance sedans.
Borrowing plenty from the car-maker's flagship Mercedes-AMG GT R, the new AMG Aerodynamic Package Plus accessory pack adds a more prominent front splitter, anti-dive planes, huge fixed rear wing spoiler and a rear diffuser strip -- all finished in high-gloss black.
The AMG-CLA's new aero add-ons are thought to have been developed and tested in a wind tunnel, but no claims have been made about whether they boost downforce or reduce drag.
Either way, the new AMG Aerodynamic Package Plus will be attractive for those who want to better broadcast the performance credentials of their Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 or CLA 45.
Speaking of which, under the bonnet there's been no increase in performance for either the 225kW CLA 35 or the 310kW CLA 45.
On sale in Europe now, the AMG Performance Package has been priced from €1487 ($A2400) without the rear wing or €2737 ($A4500) with it.
In Australia, the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 S 4MATIC+ costs $85,500 plus on-road costs, while the flagship Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4MATIC+ is priced from $111,200 plus ORCs.
