Mitsubishi's popular compact SUV will be even more popular with the $3000 worth of extra kit offered in the limited-edition Outlander ACTiV.
Based on the Outlander LS, the special edition offers buyers a raft of cosmetic upgrades including 18-inch alloy wheels, front fog lamps, chrome exhaust tip and black roof rails with cross bars. A black front grille rounds out the exterior alterations.
Expanding the Outlander’s already generous standard equipment list, ACTiV models also gain climate control air conditioning, rear privacy glass, Bluetooth connectivity and reverse parking sensors. Mitsubishi claims the extra features retail for more than $3000 -- added to the value of the Outlander LS.
Under the bonnet, Outlander ACTiV retains the same 2.4-litre four-cylinder MIVEC engine. Developing 125kW/226Nm, the economical petrol unit is mated to a choice of five-speed manual or continuously variable (CVT) automatic transmissions.
The Outlander ACTiV is available in both five- and seven-seat configurations and includes such standard safety features as Mitsubishi’s reinforced impact safety evolution (RISE) body, electronic stability control, traction control and anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution.
Outlander ACTiV models are available now with driveaway pricing from $33,990 for the five-seat manual -- a significant saving over the manufacturer's list price* of $33,240 for the standard Outlander LS.
* manufacturer's list price excludes on-road costs and dealer pre-delivery charge.
