Volvo has issued official photos of its V90 Cross Country wagon, and has confirmed it will go on sale in Australia at some point before the middle of next year.
The V90 Cross Country is a natural fit for the local range, says Volvo Car Australia MD, Kevin McCann.
“Australians have openly displayed their appreciation of the Volvo Cross Country over the years, with the vehicle’s go anywhere capability whilst looking the part in any environment," says McCann. "We see this trait continuing with the new V90 Cross Country.”
Built on Volvo's Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) modular platform, the V90 Cross Country is to the V90 wagon what the Allroad is to Audi's A4 and A6 Avant models. According to the press material issued with the images, the V90 Cross Country has been tested in climatic conditions as extreme as far northern Sweden and Arizona in the USA.
The V90 Cross Country will make its debut in Paris at the end of this month, with production due to commence within a few months at Volvo's Torslanda manufacturing plant in Sweden.
