SPY PICS: 10 into R8 does go

Meld a high performance V10 engine from the Lamborghini Gallardo with Audi's new R8 sports car and you end up with a car that will give a Porsche Turbo a run for its money.

That's the view of the Carparazzi pros in residence at the Nurburgring. Our favourite spy photographers tell us the new car sports larger brakes, new side skirts and larger side air intakes.

The side intake covers are finished in body colour, rather than the charcoal colour of the V8 variant.

It's not known as yet whether the new car will go by the name RS8 or remain R8 V10. The V10 engine may also be de-tuned slightly for the Audi application.
