SPY PICS: Mercedes-Benz GT AMG

Winter benchmark testing sees Merc's ‘baby SLS' line up against Porsche's 911 Turbo
Previously dubbed ‘SLC’, and known also as the C190 prototype, the Mercedes-Benz GT AMG appears to be on target for its 2015 debut.
The GT AMG will sit towards the top of the Mercedes-Benz sports fleet, and will boast styling heavily influenced by the SLS AMG (also pictured). Notable styling cues include a long bonnet and short rump, conventionally-hinged doors and a dual sports exhaust system.
In these images, Mercedes-Benz appears to be conducting a portion of its winter testing alongside Porsche’s 911 Turbo. It’s an interesting benchmark, and with previous estimates placing the GT AMG’s output at approximately 357kW, the 911 Turbo’s 383kW (and 660Nm) punch seems closely matched.
It is expected the GT AMG will be motivated by a twin-turbo version of Merc’s 4.0-litre V8, and that a range-topping Black Edition is also slated, with an increase of power to 404kW.
Estimates place the GT AMG’s starting price at roughly 110,000 Euros, or just more than $A170,000. We assume more will be known closer to the model’s expected debut at this year’s Paris motor show.
