Toyota Racing Development (TRD) has released a new styling kit for the upcoming Toyota GR Supra that has been designed to improve the fast coupe's aerodynamic performance.
The upgrades, which include a new front spoiler, side skirts, boot lid spoiler and elements for the doors, are all made of lightweight carbon-fibre and were previewed back in February on the TRD GR Supra Performance Line Concept.
Instead of simply improving the looks, TRD insist all the aero tweaks were designed to bring genuine improvements in downforce and a reduction of high-speed lift.
The carbon-fibre door elements, for example, were added to smooth airflow to the rear, while the new three-piece spoiler, side skirts and rear side spoilers allow better air management at high speed, making the updates ideal for those who will use their Supras on track.
Finally, as well as the extra aero goodies, TRD has also developed a set of lightweight forged 19-inch aluminium wheels.
Initially, the TRD performance parts will only be offered in the Japanese market but it's thought that soon after the Supra's launch Down Under in September, the body kit and forged rims will be offered to other markets as dealer-fit accessories.
