Toyota has confirmed it will pull the drapes off a concept for a faster version of its flagship 2019 Toyota GR Supra coupe at the Osaka motor show later this week.
Confirmed for an unveiling on February 9, the Japanese car-maker has released a single line-drawing silhouette image of the Toyota Supra Performance Line Concept TRD that clearly shows the fast coupe will grow a huge aero kit.
Toyota has not released any of the details but the link between the A90 Toyota Supra and the car-maker's Toyota Racing Development (TRD) performance suggests it will tease performance enhancements to cater to the huge demand for aftermarket tuner parts.
As well as the big rear wing and host of aero tweaks, we expect the TRD parts will also add bigger brakes, a louder sports exhaust and a suspension upgrade more suited to track work.
Thought to have been inspired by famous Supra race cars like the Supra 3000GT that competed in the Japan GT Championship (that the car-maker also released a telling line drawing of), the 2019 Supra is also set to get additional cooling like a ventilated bonnet for arduous track work.
It's thought once launched at the Osaka show, Toyota will offer the TRD performance enhancements through its dealer network in time for the Supra launch.
On sale in Australia in October of this year, it's not yet known if Toyota Australia will offer the TRD performance parts for the cars we get.
