Not content with launching the first V6 manual version in February and confirming the release of long-wheelbase XL and XXL variants around mid-year, Volkswagen Group Australia has now launched the Volkswagen Amarok V6 580S limited-edition.
Available to order nationally now ahead of first deliveries in June, the 580S is the best-specified version of the dual-cab 4x4 ute yet seen from the German brand, which will launch an all-new Amarok in 2022, but also one of the most expensive at $70,990 plus on-road costs.
However, the 2020 Volkswagen Amarok 580S brings new special features and equipment not even seen in the range-topping Amarok V6 Ultimate ($72,790 plus ORCs).
Just 200 examples of the 580S will be offered in Australia, each differentiated by a body-coloured molded rear styling bar, a body-coloured roof-mounted light bar with two 86-Watt LED lamps and a premium black rear roll cover.
There is also the option of signature Carbon Steel Grey metallic paint with black exterior door handles (Candy White and Deep Black Pearl solid colours with body coloured door handles are also available).
The Volkswagen Amarok V6 580S rides on 20-inch ‘Talca’ gloss black alloy wheels and also features bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights and front/rear park distance control with reversing camera.
Inside, the Volkswagen Amarok V6 580S scores ‘Art Velour’ seat trim and heated front seats, while black headlining and pillar trims, Discover Media infotainment with App-Connect and Climatronic air-conditioning are also present.
Under the bonnet is the same lusty 580Nm 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel as seen in other TDI580 models, offering up to 200kW of power on overboost and matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission and 4MOTION 4x4 system with Torsen differential.
“Customers have always chosen the Amarok V6 for its power, off-road capability and domestic duty drivability, but one of the other aspects our customers have come to expect from the Amarok is just how well-kitted it is, in any spec,” said Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Australia National Marketing Manager, Nick Reid.
“The Amarok V6 580S raises the bar yet again with a host of high-value special features that are not only practical, but lift the on-road presence of the most powerful ute in its class.”
Naturally, the Volkswagen Amarok V6 580S is covered by VW’s five-year/unlimited-km factory warranty, capped-price servicing every calendar year and the option of pre-purchased three- or five-year Service Care Packs.
