Top bang for the bucks By pure chance we test drove the J8 Ridge after testing X5, XC90 and XC60. All models including the J8 had similar powered engines and similar levels of equipment. The price difference made us pick the Jaecoo. The only complaint I have is how the gearbox is programmed; even in sports mode it is too keen to gear up which makes the car not enough responsive. However, after a few thousand kilometres I've now learned how to handle it. Another miss is there are no gear shift paddles on the steering wheel; that would easily have solved the tendency to gear up issue. Strongly recommend the J8 Ridge, especially when you get 2.5 J8 for an X5 and 2.0 J8 for an XC90.

Love driving it no regrets 6 months old, 10,000kms, I’ve owned and driven everything from WRX, XR 8 SS commodores but the Tesla for me the nicest and most comfortable to drive. Super smooth, quiet I couldn’t go back to an ice car, my wife has a new cx5 which drove a lot better than my old car, the cx5 now feels like I’m driving a truck. I would prefer indicators on a stalk than buttons on the steering wheel, apparently Tesla now going back to stalks. I’ve had no issues, I do have solar and battery so charging really costing me nothing. I haven’t been on a long trip yet but no range anxiety yet. A space saver would be nice. Large boot, I personally really like the interior minimalist approach. Drives like a sports car, excellent handling and of course fantastic acceleration, though I drive in chill mode so I don’t lose my licence. Cruise control and self steer so far is excellent, hang back perfect and brakes as I would. Easily fit two child seats in the back. The range is less than advertised but is well known for most EVs. At 100 per cent my range is 480kms is, advertised is 520kms. Though with this model you can constantly charge to 100 per cent 480kms is a good distance on one charge. Simply I love driving this car, the tech is spot on and wouldn’t change anything except the indicators.

Absolutely Loveeeeeeee Very sporty yet practical vehicle for transporting friends and family, very economic with a 5.7-litre/100km at 1500kms. Side note, looks absolutely immaculate in the silver sky colour. After owning Hyundai's and Kia’s, this vehicle is much more reliable and I feel safer driving this car, especially with its interior build and safety features.
