Not my preference Disappointing “upgrade” from the B9 platform. The MMI is poorly designed and less informative despite the larger displays. The steering wheel is ugly and not pleasurable to use like the standard round top designs. The Audi logo has lost its glamour and quality. There is little indication when you’re in the car that it is an Audi. Too many touch buttons and no tactile features to make it pleasurable to operate. The brakes are too responsive, which I gather is part of the regenerative hybrid system, but is a major divergence from normal brake pedal function. The interior is not as luxurious as the B9 platform, and the raised car door handles above the B9 version is unnecessarily high now. The bolstered front end make you feel like you’re driving a utility vehicle, and it may as well be, the way that it handles.

Not much used BMW Z4 is a luxury two-seater roadster from BMW, designed mainly for driving enjoyment. It has a very attractive and sporty design, and when the roof is down, it gives a true open-top European sports car feeling. Inside, the cabin is high quality with premium materials, modern design, and a driver-focused layout that makes the experience feel special. On the road, the Z4 offers precise steering and excellent handling. It feels light and well-balanced, which makes it very enjoyable on winding roads and open highways. Love driving it no regrets 6 months old, 10,000kms, I’ve owned and driven everything from WRX, XR 8 SS commodores but the Tesla for me the nicest and most comfortable to drive. Super smooth, quiet I couldn’t go back to an ice car, my wife has a new cx5 which drove a lot better than my old car, the cx5 now feels like I’m driving a truck. I would prefer indicators on a stalk than buttons on the steering wheel, apparently Tesla now going back to stalks. I’ve had no issues, I do have solar and battery so charging really costing me nothing. I haven’t been on a long trip yet but no range anxiety yet. A space saver would be nice. Large boot, I personally really like the interior minimalist approach. Drives like a sports car, excellent handling and of course fantastic acceleration, though I drive in chill mode so I don’t lose my licence. Cruise control and self steer so far is excellent, hang back perfect and brakes as I would. Easily fit two child seats in the back. The range is less than advertised but is well known for most EVs. At 100 per cent my range is 480kms is, advertised is 520kms. Though with this model you can constantly charge to 100 per cent 480kms is a good distance on one charge. Simply I love driving this car, the tech is spot on and wouldn’t change anything except the indicators.

Technology that’ll blow your mind! They’re not wrong when they say Teslas are a one of a kind type of car. They are polarising and you either love them or hate them. Before buying mine, I was indifferent, but am absolutely in love with the brand, the car and the technology. What will stand out is the tech and how much it makes your driving experience so easy and satisfying. The only downside isn’t the ‘range anxiety’, it’s the practicality of dealing with the recharge if you don’t have a wall connector, which is an additional investment. I’ve gotten by with a mobile connector which is a slower charge. If you’re not too fussed, superchargers help you get that 50% charge in as little as 20 minutes. At least I don’t have to worry about the regular servicing and costs associated with an ICE vehicle. Absolutely love this car.

Just like a proper car, but electric It drives like any other BMW- that’s to say sporty and safe, but the ride is far better than our old BMW 440i. I don’t understand why people are wary of electric cars as the compromises (only 450 km range, slower to recharge) are easy to live with and the benefits (quieter ride, no fuel costs, and you never need to visit a scungy petrol station, instant acceleration etc) easily outweigh them. And in every other way it looks and drives like a normal car. Nothing has gone wrong in two years of ownership, although it does go through rear tyres more than I would like due to the instant torque that’s on tap. Best car I have owned.

Fabulous car, unbelievable acceleration, effortless to drive. Love the sports look, awesome colour, trim is a head turner in a beautiful Magma Red. We bought a extended four-year warranty which runs out in four years or 137000km. Sensational ride, and offers numerous variables to adjust to your preferences. A very luxurious car which handles well with four adults. The diesel motor is really efficient, we have had 6.2-litre per 100km on trips.

BMW i4 ownership: major fault and stressful resolution process I paid premium money for a BMW i4 and, based on my ownership experience, I wouldn’t recommend it. Major breakdown / DSC failure: Within the first year, the car suffered a sudden failure while driving and stopped on the road with multiple warning messages. Braking and acceleration were degraded, which I believe created a serious safety risk. The vehicle had to be towed and was later diagnosed as a DSC unit failure. Real-world range: Range was another major disappointment. In my real-world use, the effective range was around 280 km (your results may vary depending on speed, weather, and A/C). A Melbourne–Sydney trip became extremely inconvenient – the journey took about 17 hours, with roughly 8 hours spent charging/charging-related delays. For me, that made long-distance travel impractical. Features vs price: For a car in this price bracket (over $80K drive-away in my case), I also found it frustrating that some “basic” driver-assistance features I expected (e.g., lane keeping/lane-centring style assistance) were not available in the way I assumed they would be. This added to the feeling that the value didn’t match the premium price. Overall, between the breakdown, the long downtime and the range limitations, I wouldn’t buy the same car again.
