Yet another preview image of the 2021 Nissan Ariya has been released ahead of the all-new battery-powered SUV's world debut on July 15.
This week's shadowy teaser reveals striking quad-LED headlights and the wide arrow-shaped daytime running light strips that sit below them.
The latest image of Nissan's flagship electric SUV is yet more evidence it will stay true to the original concept that previewed it at the 2019 Tokyo show.
Already exposed in patent images lodged in Japan in April, Nissan’s high-performance battery-powered SUV will not only feature the concept's slimline headlights but also the show car's dominant inverted trapezoidal grille.
That large enclosed grille is thought to be crucial as it neatly packages behind it an array of sensors to facilitate the car-maker’s latest ProPilot driver-assist functions, which will allow Level 3 (hands and eyes off) autonomous driving on the highway.
Based on Nissan’s dedicated new CMF-EV platform architecture, the Ariya measures in at 4600mm long – 40mm shorter than the Nissan X-TRAIL.

Set to be powered by two electric motors that will muster around 227kW of power and 680Nm of torque, Nissan promises the Ariya will be “almost as fast” as the ballistic Nissan GT-R.
Expect a 0-100km/h acceleration time of around three seconds but a significantly lower top speed than the GT-R.
As well as being fast in a straight line, the Nissan Ariya will feature an advanced chassis control technology that is claimed to elevate both cornering and braking levels to match the brand’s latest performance vehicles.

Clever regenerative braking tech, meanwhile, aims to reduce the dive and pitch associated with EVs.
Created to be a direct rival for the upcoming Tesla Model Y, the zero-emission Nissan SUV will also boast a 500km range.
Stay tuned, as all is set to be revealed online on July 15.
