Audi's next fast chargers to top up batteries in 12 mins

Making the announcement following the launch of its first pure-electric vehicle, the e-tron, the German car maker said the significant reduction in charging times would come from both advances in battery development and the introduction of 350kW charging.
Currently, Audi along with BMW, Ford and Daimler is rolling out a network of 150kW fast-chargers across Europe as part of its Ionity joint-venture.

According to the car maker, the first car to be capable of charging at 350kW will be the e-tron GT – the third pure-electric model to be introduced by Audi.
It's thought the 12-minute charge will help win over buyers concerned over range anxiety.
The average time for car owners to refuel and pay for petrol or diesel is claimed to be around seven minutes.
It's not just Audi, within the Volkswagen Group, who will benefit from the ultra-fast 350kW chargers. Porsche has already claimed that its Taycan sports sedan will be capable of adding 400km to its range from flat in just 15 minutes.
