Nissan has committed to growing its sales base in India by establishing an on-line retail portal for new car purchasers.
The importer claims that buyers selecting a new car from its range of Sunny (our Almera), Evalia, Micra, Terrano (Pathfinder), Teana (Maxima), X-Trail and 370Z, will get faster service and delivery by purchasing directly through the company's website. Purchases can be completed with a credit card once the buyer has settled on the car of his or her choice. The distributor then arranges for the vehicle to be shipped to the nearest dealer, for pick-up by the new owner.
"Today most car buyers go online before making a decision, so using the internet is a logical extension of the purchase cycle," said Nitish Tipnis, director of marketing for Nissan's Indian distributor, Hover Automotive India.
"At Nissan, we are putting in place suitable payment gateways with the help of specific car portals to ensure timely delivery and service at the time of purchase. The objective is to simplify the purchase cycle and delight the customer by making the entire sales journey quicker and more efficient with no compromise on service," Tipnis told the International Business Times.
