Renault appoints new Sales Director

15-year veteran will improve communications between Paris and the Australian division

Renault's new Sales Director in Australia, Mark Hawkins, is a Brit who has been working with the French manufacturer for the past 15 years.

In total, the new appointee has twenty years of experience in the automotive industry and has joined the Australian arm of the company from a position in Renault's Head Office Export Division.

His background has been predominantly sales-focused with senior roles in sales and distribution in Britain and France.

Hawkins' appointment is expected to improve the lines of communications between Renault's Australian office at Dandenong in Victoria and the company's head office, according to the local Marketing Communications Manager, Craig Smith.

"What [Hawkins' appointment] does for us is it just opens up the communications channels even more", he said, alluding to Hawkins' close personal contacts established over the years with key Head Office staff.

"It's always a challenge with any small organisation that's operating a long way from Head Office -- even the basics of language barriers and that type of thing. Those challenges aren't unique to us", he said.
