The 2025 Renault Koleos Evolution has arrived in Australia and will be priced from $34,990 plus on-road costs (ORCs) when it lands in dealers later this month.
Claimed to wind back the Renault Koleos price tag to mirror what was charged for a mid-size SUV 10 years ago, the new Evolution trim replaces the previous mid-spec Zen (4x2) version that was priced a substantial $7510 higher.
The new limited-edition model is cheaper than the former entry-level Koleos Life. The Life has been dropped as part of the new lineup, but originally sold for $37,500 plus ORCs.
Both the Koleos Intens 4x2 and the Koleos Intens 4x4 carry over as part of the 2025 model-year updates but are now priced at $39,990 plus ORCs and $42,990 plus ORCs, representing significant savings of $6010 and $5510 respectively.
Like the former Koleos Zen, the latest Koleos variant is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 126kW and 226Nm. It is combined with the brand’s X-tronic CVT automatic transmission that powers the mid-spec Intens 4x2 and Intens 4x4.
Despite saving thousands over the trim it replaces, the new Koleos Evolution bags real leather seats, a 7.0-digital instrument cluster, an 8.7-inch infotainment screen with built-in satnav, keyless go, electric-fold mirrors, a full-size spare, dual-zone climate control, rear privacy glass, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
When it comes to driver-assist tech, the newest variant sports autonomous emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, front and rear parking sensors, and LED headlights and taillights.
Set to celebrates its 10th birthday next year, it’s not known how much longer Renault plans to sell the current second-gen Koleos in Australia.
In other markets a third-gen version called the Grand Koleos is already on sale, but that car is based on the Geely Xingyue L and is not yet on sale in right-hand drive.
Commenting on the revised 2025 Renault Koleos lineup, Renault Australia General Manager Glenn Sealey said: “With the Renault Koleos Evolution we are delivering a premium option in the middle of the mid-size SUV market.
“We know customers have a lot of choice in what is the most popular segment of the new-car market, but we believe this compelling offer from a European brand will prompt people to stop and take notice.”
The updated Renault Koleos range remains backed by Renault Australia’s seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty.
