The facelifted 2024 Genesis GV70 has been revealed in Korea and will arrive Down Under in the second half of the year offering fresh styling, a reworked interior and more overt sportiness via a new Sport package.
No major mechanical updates have been announced for the Hyundai luxury brand’s mid-size SUV rival for the Audi Q5 and BMW X3, which suggests the familiar array of four- and six-cylinder turbo-petrol engines and the punchy battery-electric powertrain will be retained as they are.
The same can’t be said for the GV70’s exterior design, however. It has been refreshed with a new bumper, grille mesh, headlights, alloy wheels and redesigned indicators, which have been moved from the bumper to the tail-light clusters.
Inside the cabin is the familiar panoramic virtual cockpit arrangement you’ll find on most new Hyundai and Kia model, except in this instance it’s all one display and spans 27 inches from corner to corner, leaving the rest of the dash largely untouched save for the new haptic climate control buttons, extended mood lights and updated steering wheel.
Those wanting a more athletic persona will be able to opt for an optional Sport package that adds bigger intakes and a double-layered ‘G-Matrix Crest Grille’, plus charcoal 21-inch wheels, a flat-bottom steering wheel and dark-chrome rear diffuser and muffler tips.
“Further details on specifications will be revealed closer to the official launch date,” Genesis said.
“The 2025 GV70 will go on sale locally in the second half of 2024, with Australian pricing and specification to be confirmed closer to launch.”
